We stayed for one night for my birthday and overall it was a nice experience. I appreciated the birthday note in our room. The whole building does feel like it needs a refresh as it felt quite dated and in places crumbly. The staff were friendly and helpful but forgot to tell us when check out was so we had to spend a bit of time finding the information. Location is great if you're looking for a spot close to the action in town. We found that the radiator in the bathroom wasn't able to be turned off and made the room very hot so a better heating control would've been appreciated.

I didn't stay overnight, so didn't experience the rooms. Place is lovely, staff great. Mad that you have to pay to park in their car park as a client.

Brilliant location. Rooms are so quiet. Beds very comfortable. TV's are a bit old but not a deal breaker. Restaurant and bar very accessible. Plus a great pub out the front door (the Hideout).

Enjoyed an amazing lunch on the launch of Sunday lunches, the food was exceptional, the service attentive, the experience was a 10 out of 10 looking forward to the next time we visit, they deserve to be a success. The room was busy which was great to see, full of happy diners. Thank you Chef

Had Sunday roast here today. It was probably one of the best roasts I've ever eaten. Layers upon layers of flavour and very generous portions. Lovely setting in the Wisteria room in the hotel itself rather than in Brazz. I've stayed overnight in the hotel before and the rooms are very comfortable.

Stayed there btw 1-6 Jan 2025. Loved the warmness of the staff, especially Molly, who was always on point. And gentleman in the evening (whose name I never got) who tried his beat to get me hot milk even though the kitchen was closed. Caris was nice too (hope I spelt that right) I hope they get a nice little bonus! It’s a quaint hotel with heaps of history within the walls. Me and my family loved it.

This is a lovely romantic place to stay if you were a couple but at the moment I’m single. The Castle is also a nice place to have a reunion with friends and the hotel is right in the heart of the town and near the main Somerset County Cricket Ground. The staff are very helpful and nice and will help you out if you ask them.

We had brunch here after a dress fitting ! Service was fab! Food was reasonably priced, had the chicken club - may want to consider swapping to a normal mayo, the onion one was overpowering. Chips were delicious perfectly size fluffy and crisp !!

Went to The Castle Hotel for a birthday party which was my first visit here. The hotel is full of charm and also immaculately clean and tidy. Had a drink in the bar first which was modern and had a good selection of drinks, staff were extremely polite and friendly. Went to private dining room which was beautiful and perfect for the event. There were 36 guests but the food was quickly brought out and given to guests who had selected previously. Always a good sign to see food from the kitchen brought out to guests efficiently done. The food was piping hot and absolutely delicious, excellent quality. Staff were once again, extremely polite and attentive, topping up wine without any fuss. Overall, very impressed with the Castle Hotel and would highly recommend.
